THE CENTER FOR THE STUDY OF LOS ANGELES announces $1000 awards for the best papers and projects on Los Angeles produced during 2002/2003 academic year.



Winners will present their work at a special conference on Los Angeles in the early part of the fall 2003 semester. Winners will receive $500 when the awards are announced in early summer, and $500 at the conference.

Submissions from any academic-discipline are welcome! Examples of eligible work include: Research papers, Short stories, Films, Screenplays, Scientific investigation.

Entries might focus on the history, economy, politics, culture, religion, or ecology of metropolitan Los Angeles or any of the counties, cities, or neighborhoods in greater LA.

All full-time undergraduate students are invited to submit their work between May 1st and 15th, 2003.
