As a student-centered, Catholic University, Loyola Marymount considers the creation of a campus community in which all members are appreciated, respected and free to develop their personal gifts. The University recognizes the importance of student organizations in fostering the educational mission of the University and provides support through Student Leadership & Development. Student Leadership & Development provides advisement to over 140 student clubs and organizations reflecting academic, cultural, professional, service, athletic, and social diversity. In addition, ASLMU provides limited financial support and the opportunity for collaborative programming. Latin Dance Group
Mission: The LMU Latin Dance Group is an open environment in which any student, undergraduate or graduate, can learn the skills of the dances of Latin America, such as Salsa and Merengue. The Latin Dance Group allows students to interact with other members who love to dance and allows for the opportunity to learn more about Latin American Culture. It is open to students of all skill levels and knowledge of Latin dances and no partner is required. The dances are taught by a professional dance instructor.

Aqua Folks
Mission:To promote safe and responsible recreational scuba diving as well as an enriched environmental awareness through volunteer service and education. Through participation in our club, our goal is for members to: 1.Become better educated about practicing scuba skills and gain diver experience. 2.Team up with outside organizations such as Reef Check and “Save the Bay” as well as local dive shops to pursue service trips in which we collect scientific data and participate in keeping our oceans clean. 3.Educate members about local underwater ecosystems for an environmental benefit.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Mission:The purpose of the club is to offer members the opportunity to practice the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The club hopes to further promote the fledging art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, the art known as the 'gentle art' because of its use of grappling techniques as opposed to strikes such as punches and kicks. The art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu offers strengthening, conditioning, flexibility, and self defense and for these reasons we wish to share it with all interested students in a safe, controlled, supportive and fun environment.

Mission: Isang Bansa is the premier Filipino & Filipino-American student organization at Loyola Marymount University, located in beautiful Los Angeles, California. We are an organization of over fifty (and counting!) members strong coming from a variety of backgrounds and locations. As an organization, we hope to preserve our ethnic heritage, motivate activity in the Filipino & Filipino-American communities, stimulate a sincere interest in the Filipino & Filipino-American cultures, and promote interaction between the diverse cultures of the Southern California area and beyond. The term "Isang Bansa" is a Tagalog phrase that translates in English to "One Nation," however, as an organization that has such a strong and cohesive connection amongst its members, we have taken it to mean "One Family" as well. Sankofa Society
Mission:The purpose of Sankofa Society is to first serve as a cultural awareness organization fostering the principles it’s founded upon. “Sankofa” in the West African Akan language means to “go back to our roots in order to move forward”. The Sankofa Society prepares events to educate and remind students about the history of their African ancestry and based upon this foundation, prepares them for future success. The organization also serves as a fundraising source that provides students the opportunity to collectively raise funds in order to attend and make affordable the Ghana, Africa Study Abroad Trip in the coming Summer.

Resident Housing Association
Mission: The Loyola Marymount University Resident Housing Association is a representative organization of the resident community of Loyola Marymount University and operates in conjunction with the Department of Student Housing. The association provides programs that promote community, service, and overall building pride, while supporting and upholding the ideals, ethics, and principles of the Jesuit and Marymount traditions. The principle goal of the organization and its members is to create a pleasant, educational, safe and social living environment for all residents. RHA is a representative organization of the resident community of Loyola Marymount University and works in conjunction with the Department of Student Housing. Theology Society
Mission: The Theology Society is a co-curricular student group open to all Theological Studies undergraduate majors and minors. The group convenes monthly, typically sharing lunch and discussion, often with a guest speaker. The group also organizes various outings as opportunities for students to socialize with one another and with Theological Studies faculty. The faculty advisor to the Theology Society coordinates annual visits from admissions representatives from graduate theological programs around the country for interested majors and minors. The Theology Society also includes an Executive Board comprised of Theology majors and minors that plan events that spread awareness of issues relating to theology and stimulate academic discourse.

Belles Service Organization
Mission: Belles is a 50-member organization composed of sophomore, junior and senior women dedicated to giving time and service to the University and the community beyond. Each Belle is committed to completing at least thirty hours of service per semester. Weekly meetings take place every Tuesday from 10-11pm which are a time to sign up for service and come together as an organization to reflect on service. Mission:We are a student group that believes in labor and economic justice and the rights of all workers to earn a living wage, have a voice on the job and to organize. We work in opposition systems driven by the exploitive logic that sees human beings as human capital. We work in solidarity with working people in their struggle to attain basic workers’ rights. In order to best accomplish this and in recognition of the interconnections between local struggles, we strive to build relationships and work in coalition with other progressive movements and groups struggling for justice within the local community. We believe in the power of direct action organizing and the importance of mobilizing our community.
