Linda Marie Lang '76

Linda Marie Lang graduated in 1976 with a BA from LMU and in 1979 with a MS from California State University at Long Beach.  Ms. Lang has worked at coordinating major university events, creating the first preventative maintenance program for the Physical Plant department and, for renovation and construction projects for the university. Ms. Lang was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer in November 2003, taking one year off and returning in November 2004 to work in the Alumni Relations Department with Alumni Chaplain Peg Dolan, RSHM, ’85 for the Alumni for Others program, management of alumni benefits, and the LMU alumni employees affinity group.  In 2005 at LMU, Ms. Lang founded, the “Cancer Mentoring Network”; a group of staff, faculty and students who are cancer survivors or care for loved ones with cancer.  In 2006, she created the “Living Life to the Fullest – Cancer Awareness Faire” which has now become an annual event for LMU.  Ms. Lang works closely with the on-campus department sponsor, Center for Ignatian Spirituality, for both programs.
