LMU Caucus

LMU Caucus

Loyola Marymount University started the LMU Caucus in the Spring of 2007. The caucus is a group of politically active LMU alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends that advance our strategic goals at various levels of government.

Some of the goals for the LMU Caucus are to obtain congressionally directed funds for LMU and Loyola Law School, lobby our local, state and federal governments to maintain or increase levels of student aid, share governmental employment opportunities and internships with LMU students, secure prominent elected officials to speak at LMU and offer LMU as a venue for political debates and hearings.

The structure of the LMU Caucus is divided into three groups: the Caucus Executive Advisors (CEA's), the Caucus Steering Committee (CSC) and Caucus Members. The CEA's are elected and retired public officials, staff and more senior politically connected individuals. This group is asked to attend periodic meetings and assist our efforts when necessary. The CSC members, are alumni that are politically active and provide nationwide geographic representation. These individuals assist in short and long-term strategic planning and in activities directed by university staff. The Caucus Members are the grassroots supporters who are politically active to call on for letter writing and calling campaigns when needed.
