Alumni for Others Reflection Questions
In an effort to become men and women for others we are reminded that service is not just in events but is a part of our everyday experience. Alumni For Others takes into consideration what fellow men and women are going through, experiencing their needs, challenges and struggles of life. Please reflect on how Alumni For Others, being a person
for others can become a part of your everyday life.
In the words of St. Ignatius of Loyola we pray:
Lord, teach me to be generous.
Teach me to serve you as you deserve;
To give and not to count the cost;
To fight and not to heed the wounds;
To toil and not to seek for rest;
To labor and not to ask for reward,
Except to know that I am doing your will.
Based on the LMU Mission: Our shared mission is the encouragement of learning, the education of the whole person, the service of faith and the promotion of justice; how do you see this experience today as a way to live the LMU mission?
- Sharing a part of ourselves with those in need.
- Giving back to the community.
- Meeting new people; one learns new things.
- Develop yourself to give back to others, by developing the whole person, in doing something you would not normally do.
- The children who attend this school will be more encouraged to learn because we took pride in their school.
- When we do community service, we and those we help, are on an “equal playing field”.
