Cynthie Bond Assistant Director, Center for Religion and Spirituality
Cynthie Bond, Assistant Director of the Center for Religion and Spirituality, received her BA in Theology from LMU where she in now completing her Master thesis in Theology. Before arriving at CRS, Cynthie worked as a Graduate Assistant in Theological Studies where she was actively involved in ATS accreditation, President’s Institute and Committee on Mission and Identity, as well as student teaching. Prior to LMU she worked with Catholic Charities, as a Case Manager in a homeless shelter, and in parish ministry. Cynthie is interested in the intersection between theology and gender studies and continues to teach in this area. |

Louise Dobbs Office Supervisor
Louise Dobbs has worked at LMU since 1997, beginning as Senior Secretary working with Jonathan Weil in the LACIS project and Jody Fisher in Continuing Education. She was assistant to Christopher Chapple when he joined the department in 2002 and became Office Supervisor of LMU Extension in 2003. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena. Her hobbies include singing, hiking, walking, bike riding, books and movies. |

Peggy Dobreer Administrative Assistant
Peggy Dobreer is a graduate of Whittier College and longtime educator trained in council work at The Ojai Foundation and with The Association of Experiential Education. Over the last 15 years as Educational Director for The Center for the Advancement of Nonviolence, as part of the Human Development faculty of Crossroads School, and in church settings and private team-building programs, she has facilitated more than a thousand Council circles. |

Amparo Denney Yoga Studies
Amparo Denney has been a student of Yoga for the past 13 years and a registered Yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance since 2004. She has continued her Yoga studies at LMU Extension, and has completed Yoga Therapy Rx I and the Vinyasa Krama Certificate programs. |

Ben Hayes Director, Special Programs
After military service as an officer in the U.S. Army, Ben Hayes worked for a couple of years for an NBC-TV affiliate in Arizona. Upon returning to Los Angeles, his home, he worked for 18 years with a company overseeing the distribution of high-end residential kitchen equipment. For several years prior to coming to LMU, Ben worked in the special projects department of a property-management company that owned a 1 million-square-foot shopping center and several hundred apartment units. Since early 1994, Ben has had several positions within LMU Extension, from responsibility for publication of the summer session bulletin to on-campus non-degree programs and currently, special programs. |

Robert A. Hurteau Director, Center for Religion and Spirituality
Robert A. Hurteau, Ph.D., is the Director of LMU’s Center for Religion and Spirituality and a former missionary. He holds a doctorate in Pastoral Counseling/Practical Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. |

Susan Love Loughmiller Marketing and Related Projects
Susan Love Loughmiller was a journalist for 20 years, working as a reporter, editor, and director of photography and art at newspapers in various cities including Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Houston and Phoenix en route to becoming a division editor at the Los Angeles Daily News. After the birth of her daughter, Matilda, she entered the non-profit sector where she has worked prior to joining LMU as Director of Communications for United Cerebral Palsy, manager of the Ocean Housing Foundation, co-chair of the Ocean Park Community Organization in Santa Monica, the first director of the environmental-teaching coalition reDiscover of Santa Monica/Venice, and as a senior writer in communications for the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. |

Pat Ranftl Records and Registration
Pat Ranftl is the Records and Registration Specialist with the LMU Office of the Registrar and also handles tuition assistance for Extension students. She has done volunteer work for the American Diabetes Association and for Children’s Hospital. |

Cherie Schenck Senior Director of LMU Extension
Cherie Mills Schenck is currently Senior Director of LMU Extension at Loyola Marymount University, where she leads the development and implementation of a variety of continuing education, professional development and online programs. Schenck received a Doctorate in Instructional Technology & Distance Education from Nova Southeastern University, with a dissertation topic involving student motivation in online courses. Schenck has designed and developed 13 online professional development courses. She holds an MBA from California State University, Long Beach, and a B.A. in Radio/TV/Film Broadcasting from California State University, Northridge. |

Bradley Smith Addiction Counseling Certificate Program
Bradley Smith, CADCA, RTC, program coordinator for LMU’s Addiction Counseling Certificate Program, is a certified addiction counselor and member of the California Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (CAADAC). He also is certified in Reality Therapy/Choice Theory. |
