The Library staff at Loyola Marymount University is here to help you with any research needs you many have during your stay on campus. With advanced notice, instruction in the use of the library's resources is available by request.
LIBRARY BUILDING HOURS:*
Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 11:00 pm
Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Saturday - Sunday 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
CLOSED : Wednesday, July 4 th
*The Circulation Counter closes 15 minutes before the Library closes. The Media & Reserves
Counter and the Photocopy Room close 30 minutes before the Library closes.
REFERENCE DESK HOURS:
Monday – Thursday 9:00 am – 7:00 pm
Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Saturday 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
BORROWING PRIVILEGES:
Only CTY staff members have borrowing privileges. CTY staff may borrow:
- - up to 20 books at a time, for a period of 3 weeks or until the end of your session.
- - audiovisual materials for up to 3 hours
** a longer checkout may be requested from a Media/Reserves Staff person**
Please be aware of due dates: overdue book fines are 15 cents per day and overdue audiovisual media fines are $1 per hour.
PRINTING/PHOTOCOPYING:
Only CTY staff cards can pay for printing and photocopying. The cost is 10 cents per page. Funds may be added to cards by using the OneCard – VTS machine located near the front entrance of the Library.
SUPERVISION:
CTY students cannot use the Library without supervision of CTY staff.
WORKSTATIONS:
Reference Area public workstation policy states that LMU students have priority. Community patrons, including CTY students, might be asked to give up their workstation and then wait for another opening if all stations are occupied.
USE OF BOOKS:
Please ask students to place used books on a table or carrel for library staff pickup. Reshelving is not necessary.
If there are particular books necessary for extended research (longer than one day) please speak to the Reference Librarian on duty. S/he will bring a bookcart to the Reference Area that can be used to keep books for easier access.
THEFT:
We’d like to remind you that theft does occur in the building . Please let your students know that personal belongings should not be left unattended.
The Library is a place for quiet study; individuals or groups may be asked to leave if noisy or bothersome to other patrons.

SPECIAL NOTICE FOR 2007:
The VDA Lab located on the lower level of the Library has been reserved for CTY use. Please be aware of the following:
1. Closing the door to the Lab while it’s in use is recommended because library patrons are accustomed to using it when the door is open.
2. The campus Information Technology Services manages the room – please direct all questions to ITS by using the phone in the room.
3. Please be sure to bring a card key to unlock the VDA Lab. The Library does not have a key!
4. Please close the Lab door when you’re finished with your session. (Thank you!)
