Mastery Assessments
Mastery Assessments assist in placing students into mathematics and foreign language courses. They are administered through the Learning Resource Center (LRC) during Orientation and are free of charge. To schedule an assessment outside the Orientation period, call the LRC at (310) 338-2847.
Mathematics Mastery Assessment
Entering undergraduate students in the College of Business Administration, the Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering, economics majors, and liberal studies majors must take the Mathematics Mastery Assessment, unless AP math or math credit from another institution is accepted by LMU. The Mathematics Mastery Assessment is optional for entering undergraduates with other majors.
Foreign Language Mastery Assessment
Entering freshmen and transfer students should take the optional Foreign Language Mastery Assessment if they plan to enroll in a foreign language course.
