Registration Restriction
Some restrictions to registration in a course or section (majors/minors only, consent of instructor, etc.) are noted after the course in the Schedule of Classes and/or in the Bulletin and will be enforced by PROWL. Exceptions to restrictions should be discussed with the appropriate faculty member or dean. If the exception is granted, a permission override is entered into PROWL, and the student will then be able to register for the course.
Course Prerequisites
If registration in a course is dependent upon completion of a previous course or courses, PROWL will check a student’s record to ensure that these prerequisite requirements have been met. Students must have completed the requirement in a previous semester unless concurrent enrollment is permitted for that course. More information concerning prerequisite policies can be found in the University Bulletin in the specific course description.
Course Corequisites
In some cases, concurrent enrollment in a corequisite course is required (ex., lab). To enroll in a course with a corequisite, students must enter both courses simultaneously in PROWL. Failure to register for the proper corequisite may result in the student being dropped from the initial course. Withdrawal from a course with a corequisite during the semester is subject to dean approval. Course
Multiple Sections
Students may not enroll in more than one section of the same course, with the exception of Special Studies (course number ending in "-98"), Independent Studies (course number ending in "-99"), or other courses identified in the University Bulletin as repeatable for credit. Students attempting to enroll in multiple sections will be dropped from all but the first section added.
