Each entry included the research project or paper, an essay explaining how the student researched information and used the library, a bibliography, and a letter of nomination from the faculty member who had assigned the paper or project.
The Awards Committee – Professor Philippa Drennan, Biology professor and chair of the Library Advisory Committee; Glenn Johnson-Grau, Collection Development Librarian; and Pamela Clarke, Cataloging Librarian – chose these entries because they demonstrate advanced information literacy practices, use of multiple collections and services in the library, and clear evidence of significant learning. Ms. Young’s entry demonstrates an appropriate level of information literacy for a college student at the end of the first year.
Dean Kristine Brancolini will present the awards at a ceremony and reception on Friday, May 4 at 1:30 p.m. in the Von der Ahe Library lobby.
Reception: 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
