The Richard Trame Choral Recordings

Event date: Thursday, May 31, 2007, from 1:46 PM to 1:46 PM

Loyola Marymount University’s rich choral tradition is well represented in the University Archives.

The Richard Trame Choral Recordings offers researchers more than fifty years of quality live performances from the LMU Music Department, documenting the talents of the Loyola Men’s Choir and Glee Club, the Marymount College Choir, the Mount St. Mary’s Singers, the Charles Borromeo Church Choir, and the Loyola Marymount Consort Singers and Choir. Conducted by Roger Wagner, Bill Hollenbeck, Paul Salamunovich and Dr. Mary Breden, the performances feature centuries of music spanning from chant through Mozart to modern day Morten Lauridson.

Richard Trame, SJ, a history professor at LMU, traveled with the choirs as their long-time Choral Coordinator and recording engineer. Using state of the art recording equipment, Fr. Trame created an important historical record of the University’s contribution to choral performance in the tradition of the Robert Shaw Chorale’s famed "west coast" sound.

Any researcher interested in listening to the Richard Trame Choral Recordings must schedule an appointment with the Department of Archives and Special Collections. For more information about the Department, please see our website.
