The collaborative efforts of a Student Affairs and Academic Affairs grant writing team were rewarded on May 11, 2007 when the US Department of Education awarded LMU a  an Upward Bound grant.  The four-year grant ($250,000 per year) will fund the program, which will serve 50 students from Westchester High School.

Upward Bound is a TRIO program funded by the US Department of Education to provide supportive services to low-income high school students whose parents have not earned bachelor’s degrees.  The goal of the program is to prepare students to gain admission to and succeed in higher education.  Funding begins September 1.
