Message from the Chief
“To create and ensure a safe environment for the LMU community”
I would like to thank you for taking the time to
visit the Department of Public Safety (DPS) web site. Our emphasis is focused on the educational,
support, and service aspects rather than on the punitive side of law
enforcement.
The DPS staff works hard to develop and maintain
positive relationships with all members of the Community. Our principal objective is to assure the
safety of all University students, faculty, staff, and visitors. To this endeavor, we become partners with the
University community to maintain and environment that is secure so as to foster
and advance the process of student learning and faculty teaching at the same
time protect the University’s assets.
I and the whole department urge you to become involved in your personal
safety and the safety and security of our community. Throughout the year, we conduct seminars and
other community service activities to keep the students, faculty, and staff
aware of issues on and around campus. We
invite everyone to join us in reducing the incidents of crime on campus.
