More than 200 alumni, friends, family and LMU faculty and staff gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of four distinguished alumni in downtown Los Angeles. The 4th Annual LA Leaders, LMU Distinguished Alumni Reception, held at The California Club on Thursday, Feb. 22nd, recognized: Hon. Victor Chavez, '53, J.D. '59, Judge, Los Angeles County Superior Court; Kathy Wilson Moret, '72, Founder and Consultant, Moret & Associates; Javier Guerena, '62, Partner, Good Swartz Brown & Berns LLP; and Linda Cardellini, '97, Actor. Fr. Robert B. Lawton praised the honorees for their professional accomplishments, their loyalty to the university, and for living the LMU mission as leaders in the community. Introducing the honorees were alumni Fred Lower '56, JD '64, Aric Avelino '99, Steve Page '62, JD '68, and Dr. Lane Bove '69. Highlights of the evening included personal reflections from each of the honorees and the presentation of special commendations from Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, and Senator Diane Feinstein.
