Food, Drinks, and Cell Phones in the Library

01/03/07

Our previous Library policy states that food, drinks, and cell phone use are not allowed inside the building.  This year, we are trying something new!

Feel free to bring:

  • Drinks in lidded containers
  • Snack food
  • Cell phones set to vibrate (quiet phone conversations and text messaging)

But:

  • No food and drink in the Quiet Study Room, near reference computers, or Archives & Special Collections Department.
  • No loud cell phone conversations or audible ring tones anywhere.

For this to work, you must:

  • Be courteous and responsible with your food, drink, and cell phones.
  • Report spills and damaged library materials to us immediately.
  • Use the trash cans; don’t leave trash and crumbs behind.

Let us know what you think about the policy!
