Engineering Field Trips

 
  • In March, during the first half of Spring Break, over two dozen engineering students visited important sites and laboraties in New Mexico. 

 

  • A tour led by a Native American presented the field trip participants the historical and cultural framework of Acoma Pueblo. 

 

  • The next day the students were able to visit the Intel production facilty in Rio Rancho and the Corps of Engineers earth dam at Cochiti. 

 

  • Subsequently, during a day-long exploration, the group toured the Bradbury Museum and seven laboratories at Los Alamos. 

 

  • The morning of the final day was hosted at Sandia Laboratories by LMU engineering alumn Ron Akau at his lab and at the solar facility. 

 

  • Just before flying back to L.A. the group were hosted for a presentation and a visit to another two laboratories, including a laser demonstration, at the Air Force Research Laboratory.
