Registering for Classes
Registration for classes starts November 19, 2007. Before registering for classes, read the included Course Descriptions. The Bioethics Institute offers five graduate courses for the Spring 2008 semester.
For class registration:
1. Go to PROWL, either through the Registrar’s website (http://registrar.lmu.edu) or through ManeGate.
2. Read the instructions on the PROWL Login page, then scroll to the bottom and click on the Login button.
3. The login page requires either your Social Security Number or your Student Identification Number, and your 6-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN). For new students your PIN will be your birthdate.
5. Select “Student Services & Financial Aid” and then “Registration.”
6. From the “Registration” menu, select “Look Up Classes to Add.”
7. Select the appropriate term and click on the Submit Term button.
8. Under Subject, scroll down to Bioethics. Click on Class Search at the bottom of the page.
9. This screen will show you which classes are still open for registration. Click on desired course you would like to register.
10. Your browser’s back button should NOT be used. Instead, use the (Return to) Menu icon in the upper, right-hand corner of the screen.
11. If you are unable to register, go to the “Check Your Registration Status” page from the “Registration” menu to find out why.
12. If you would like to drop a course and register for a different one, click on “Add/Drop Classes” under the registration menu. For the class you would like to drop click the down arrow next to the class and select “Web Drop” and click the submit button at the bottom of the page.
12. If registering for a variable credit course, Web Registration will give you the lowest number of credits available for that course. You may then select “Change Class Options” from the “Registration” menu to change the number of credits for the course. Be sure to verify your change
13. There are two ways to view your completed schedule. Try them both. Be sure to review your schedule frequently (for changes to course information like meeting times or room assignments)
• View your Student Schedule by Day & Time – a great way to view your schedule in block form
• View your Student Detail Schedule – a schedule with detailed information including instructor, grade mode, CRN and more
14. For access to PROWL pages from off-campus, your will need the following:
• Internet provider (e.g. Earthlink, Pacific Bell, etc.)
• Internet Explorer 3.0 or higher, Netscape 3.0 or higher, or a browser that is Secure Socket Layer (SSL) compatible
• If you are using an employer’s Internet access, you may find that your employer’s setup has a proxy. This proxy has to be SSL compatible. Check with your network administrator.
