Student Spotlight: Recent Success Stories

Student Hitting the Big Time

Ravash Ram Ravash Ram has been taking Entrepreneurship Classes in the MBA program since 2005. He presented his new product idea in that first class, and went on to win LMU's annual BEST NEW IDEA award for 2006. He has now taken three entrepreneurship classes at LMU, working on and developing his new business idea - The Backup Pal, a device for storing all of your cell phone numbers and entries as back up - and it recently was named as one of the Hottest New Ideas of 2006 by Popular Science Magazine. He has also won numerous other honors for his new idea. They are starting the business, and are currently in the fund raising stage.  


Entrepreneurial Student Wins International Honors, $40,000

Since its inception in the 1990's, LMU has been the West Coast host for the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards Program. We cover eight states, and hold a regional competition in the Spring. Since 1999, we have had three international top winners from our program and nominees (1999, 2004, 2006), as well as, one Best Social  Entrepreneur Award Winner (2003). This year's nominee, Mike Brown went to Chicago and won the top award, including $40,000 in cash and services. We are very proud to have been able to nominate him.

The competition is sponsored internationally by the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) and Mercedes Benz.
