New Online -- Oxford African American Studies Center
10/12/06
The library has subscribed to a new online resource – the Oxford African American Studies Center. In it, you’ll find biographies of over 5,000 people who have had an impact over the years and across a range of activities and occupations, from baseball great Hank Aaron to Zumbi, the seventeenth-century Afro-Brazilian hero. There are over 3,000 articles, 1,000 images, many primary source documents, maps, charts, timelines, lesson plans, study guides, and more. You’ll also find links to editorially-selected public web sites containing archival materials and data sets in African American Studies.
This a comprehensive new research tool which just became available in summer 2006. We were impressed with it and hope you’ll find it useful in your research.
