Application Process

LMU Introduces an Early Notification Program (back to top)

LMU will offer fall freshman applicants an Early Notification option this year. This will be a non binding, no strings attached program with a November 1st application deadline and a December 20th reply date. Early Notification applicants may be admitted, denied, or deferred for further consideration in our regular decision process, and all Early Notification decisions will be mailed by December 20th.

Our “regular decision” deadline for fall applicants will remain January 15th, with decisions sent on a rolling basis by April 15th. Any Early Notification applicants whose decisions are deferred will hear within this same timeframe.

  • November 1st is the Early Notification deadline for freshman applicants for Fall, 2008.
  • January 15th is the priority date for freshmen international students to apply for the fall term.
  • December 1st is the priority date for freshmen international students to apply for the spring term.

Apply by these priority dates to ensure full consideration for all programs.

    • Submit official transcripts showing all college or post-secondary study (if any) in detail.
    • Send documentation of the results of standard examinations administered by government or certifying agencies in your home country. LMU may grant advanced standing for certain foreign examinations and diplomas; for more information please click here: LMU Foreign Equivalencies
    • Obtain certified English translations of all documents not presented in English.
    • Provide photocopies that are notarized as true copies of the original document.

Application Review and Admission Decisions:

Applications for admission are reviewed on a rolling basis. This means that your application will be evaluated as soon as all required documents have been received. Written notification of your eligibility for admission will be sent as soon as a decision has been reached and normally no later than April 15 for fall freshmen who apply by January 15. Admitted students are required to submit final transcripts to verify that all work in progress is successfully completed. In the event that the final semester of work does not meet required criteria, acceptance may be rescinded.

There are no minimum or required GPA's or test scores. Each applicant is carefully reviewed for indicators of academic achievement, preparation and potential. The essay can be particularly helpful for students interested in being considered for academic scholarships.

All freshman applicants are automatically considered for academic scholarships. See Scholarships for more details.
