One of the best ways to get a feel for LMU is to come visit in person! We offer individual campus tours and counseling appointments throughout the year, plus several fun and informative events for both prospective students and admitted students.

The full campus visit experience includes the student led campus tour and an information and Q&A session led by a member of the admission staff.

Campus Tours

Tours depart from the Welcome Center in the Charles Von Der Ahe Building Monday - Friday at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, throughout the year and at 11:30am on Saturdays during the academic year. There are some restrictions and exceptions, so please check the tour calendar to confirm the tour times on the day you plan to visit. 

Information Sessions

Information sessions, led by a member of the Admission staff, are offered each weekday at 9:00 am, 12:00 noon and 2:30 pm.  As you will see when you make reservations for your spring tour, you may choose any information session and either tour time when you sign up for a spring tour.  Information sessions compliment the campus tour and provide additional information on the university and the admission process. They also provide an opportunity for questions and answers. Don't worry about whether to take the tour first or have your info session first -the information will be the same either way, so choose the combination most convenient for you.

Saturday Visits

A single campus tour is offered on Saturdays during the academic year, preceded by the information session.  The information session begins in the Welcome Center at 11:00 am and the student led campus tour departs at 11:30 am. There are no Saturday tours during the summer.

Admission Appointments

Individual appointments with admission counselors are available throughout the year and can be very useful in learning about Loyola Marymount University. The University encourages prospective students to visit campus and, if possible, to meet with an Admission Counselor; however, visits are primarily informational in nature and are not required as part of the application process.

In addition to offering students a thorough understanding of the University, appointments also afford students the opportunity to receive advice on course selection, preparation of an application, and information regarding the application procedures.

If you have not had an appointment with one of our counselors, do not worry. Our appointments are not interviews. They are not required as part of your application, and they have no bearing on admission decisions. We offer these appointments to allow you to learn as much about LMU as possible. If you have questions about our programs or about applying for admission, please send them to our Office of Admission email box, admissions@lmu.edu, and one of these counselors will respond.

Open House

Thinking about LMU? In addition to campus tours and counseling appointments throughout the year, we hold an Open House every October.  Prospective students and their families are invited to come to campus, take a tour of the facilities and residence halls, meet with students and professors, and get a feel for life at LMU.  Our next Open House will take place on Sunday, October 28, 2012. Day Visits

Have you already been accepted to LMU? Come spend the day with us! We'll match you up with a current student, and you'll attend classes, take a campus tour, meet with an admissions counselor, chat with faculty, and sample our food!

Preview Day

Every year in mid-April we invite admitted students to come to campus one last time before making a final college choice. You'll spend a fun and informative day on campus complete with presentations on our academic programs and the opportunity to meet and socialize with faculty, staff, and fellow students. This year, Preview Day will take place on Sunday, April 15, 2012.

 

Overnight Visits At this time we do not offer individual on-campus accommodations to visiting students. If you'd like to stay overnight in L.A. during your visit, you can take advantage of the LMU guest rate at several local hotels. Visit our Accommodations page for details.
