Local Government Relations represents LMU to the Mayor, Los Angeles City Council and the Westchester Neighborhood Council.  We strive to build long-lasting relations with our local elected officials throughout the city.

Mayor Paul K. Tanaka '80-  Elected Mayor of Gardena in March 2005 after serving six years as a City Councilman.   

Mayor Mark Waronek '95, was voted the new Mayor of the City of Lomita on November 7, 2006. He received his Bachelors of Arts in Communication Studies at LMU. Waronek has been a resident of Lomita for nearly 33 years, where he is currently completing his term as Mayor Pro-Tem. He is known for taking leadership on issues related to public safety and improving the quality of life for senior citizens.

Mayor Louie Lujan '02, was elected Mayor of the City of La Puente and will serve in that role until 2010.

Mayor Bill Bogaard '59, is the currect Mayor of Pasadena.  He was elected in 1999 when the position initially began and has served as Mayor since.
