Dr. August is responsible for the artificial intelligence and database management systems portion of the curriculum. Her research interests include cognitive science applications of artificial intelligence including interdisciplinary new media applications, natural language understanding, argumentation, and analogical reasoning. She has several publications in these areas. Her industry experience with the Hughes Aircraft Company (now Raytheon) includes software and system engineering for several defense C3I programs, and applied artificial intelligence research for military and medical applications.

Dr. Huang is responsible for teaching the electronics portion of the curriculum. Dr. Huang’s industrial experience includes research for Ericsson Eurolab in Germany and consulting for InterVideo, Inc. on multimedia streaming applications. Her research interests include wireless networks and multimedia signal processing. |

Professor. B.S., National Taiwan University, 1958; M.S., National Chiao-tung University, 1961; Ph.D., Utah, 1965. Dr. Kao is responsible for the communications portion of the curriculum. He has consulted on all aspects of land and satellite based communications systems. His research interests include the application of simulation techniques to the development of new methods for teaching communications. Dr. Kao has presented numerous papers at technical conferences all over the world. He is the faculty moderator of the student branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). |

Associate Professor and Chairperson. B.S., Marquette University, 1989; M.S., University of Notre Dame, 1993; Ph.D., 1996. Dr. Marino is responsible for the computer engineering portion of the curriculum. Her research interests include the areas of computer applications and image processing. She has published and presented papers at national and international conferences on enhancing degraded image data. For many years, she worked on a new generation military identification system for the Navy and optical acquisition and tracking systems for NASA. Dr. Marino is the faculty moderator for the student branch of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). |

Dr. Page is responsible for the systems and controls related courses in the curriculum. Analog and digital filtering, robotics, and computer simulations are his areas of interest. He has many years of industry experience which includes work in the areas of satellite and aircraft control systems, software design for motion control equipment, and the simulation of models for large systems. |

Dr. Plumb is the Dean of the Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering and a noted reseracher in the areas of electromagnetics and ground-penetrating radar. His research has lead to significant advances in the detection and location of underground bunkers and land mines as well as road construction and subsurface storage tank detection. Dr. Plumb has been principal investigator for a variety of sponsored research projects conducted with the sponsorship of the U.S. Army, NASA, Lockheed Martin Corp., Allied Signal Aerospace Co., and the Electrical Power Research Institute. |

Professor. B.S., University of California, Los Angeles, 1955; M.S., Pittsburgh, 1957; Ph.D., 1962. Dr. Rude is responsible for the continued development of the junior laboratory and the senior design project courses. He has done analysis and design work on naval nuclear power systems, power distribution systems for commercial power companies, surface effect ships, and computer accounting systems to name a few. His research interest is the continued development of the curriculum to enhance the educational experience of undergraduate students both within and outside of electrical engineering with particular emphasis in the capstone design courses. |

Professor. B.S., Bangladesh University, 1979; M.S., University of Wyoming, 1985; Ph.D., University of California, Davis, 1991. Dr. Ula provides expertise in electronic device simulation, VLSI design techniques, and semiconductor physics. Through this experience, we have one of the few programs in the country where junior electrical engineering students are doing designs using “industry standard” tools. Dr. Ula has presented papers in the VLSI design and simulation areas at national and international conferences. He has collaborative research projects with several universities and companies. Dr. Ula's research interests also include nanotechnology and open source computing platforms. He is a licensed amateur radio operator. |
