Ceramics

Ceramics The ceramics area at LMU offers beginning and advanced classes during the school year and one summer session. Classes are cross-listed with Continuing Education and are available to non-traditional students.

The studio is mainly oriented to traditional high-fired vessels. Alternative firing: low temperature, saggar, low-temperature salt, and raku are available. The studio population per semester is 60-70 students. The area is well equipped for handbuilding and throwing on the wheel: 20 potters wheels, 2 extruders, large slab roller, 5 electric kilns, and 4 gas kilns in a generous studio and work yard.
