Pamela Shaw Hanasz
Pamela Shaw Hanasz teaches costume design and technology. A professional costume designer, she is the vice president of the Costume Designers Guild, Local 892, representing costume designers in motion picture, and a member of United Scenic Artists, Local 829. Her costume design work in film and television includes The Painting, The Dogwalker, TV sitcom Grace Under Fire, over one hundred commercials for NIKE, Apple, Xerox, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, theme park costumes for Universal Studio’s Holiday Wonderland Parade, as well as designing specialty projects including the Energizer Bunny and the boat sails for the film Stuart Little. Her costume designs for theatre have been seen at Civic Light Opera of the South Bay, Rubicon Theatre, Court Theatre, Tamarind Theatre, McCoy Rigby at the La Mirada Performing Arts Center, Playwrights Arena , Los Angeles Theatre Center and Santa Barbara Civic Light Opera where she also directed H.M.S. Pinafore. For LMU, she has designed The Children’s Hour, The Elephant Man and Henry IV, part I.
With Winged Lion Players, Ms. Shaw Hanasz produces touring musicals including critically acclaimed original musical, God’s Trombones based on the poetry of James Weldon Johnson. She is the co-author of the definitive costume and fashion resource guide, Shopping LA: The Insiders’ Sourcebook for Film & Fashion, 3rd edition. Most recently, she participated on a panel at the United States Institute for Theatre Technology titled Beyond Theatre: Jobs in the real world and continues her study in fabric modification, adornment and mask.
