Graphic Design

Designing the Difference.

Envision your ideal future and the world in which you want to live.

Graphic Designers are the visual communicators who capture our attention and imagination through innovative uses of typography and imagery. From advertising to books, from film titles to posters, from logos to websites, graphic design surrounds us. Through a spectrum of electronic and printed media, designers visually craft messages that can stimulate, inform and persuade.

At LMU we recognize that design’s greatest potential is beyond its mere service to consumerism. In concert with the liberal arts and other educational disciplines, design can effect change on a local, national, and global scale.

Because graphic design shapes the way we see, experience, and understand the world, it can serve as a vital tool of advocacy and influence. It can clarify as well as it can distort. As electronic communication channels continue to expand, so does design’s power to create cultural experiences, to and promote social and political ideologies. Design’s ubiquity, and its potential to transform our world — for better or for worse — has never been greater.
