L.A.’s Weirdest Biathlon

Best Times

The most unusual dimension of Business Ethics Fortnight is a unique academic/athletic competition that we call "L.A.’s Weirdest Biathlon"--a contest fashioned in the spirit of that great Latin phrase, Mens sana in corpore sano.

This is an optional competition open to students involved in the presentation competition. There are winner and runner-up awards for the teams with the best combined performance in the student team presentation competition and a 5K or 10K road race of your choice—one prize connected with the 5K and one with the 10K. At least three members of the team must run. (If more than three members run, we use the best three places in gender.) The team’s score is based on the members’ finishing place in gender determined in relation to other IBECC competitors doing the biathlon.  Performance in the run and performance in the presentation competition are worth 50% each in the team's final score.  For more information on scoring, click here.
