The African American Alumni Association (AAAA) celebrated its 4th Annual Scholarship Fundraiser on Saturday, February 11, 2006. “Touching Lives” was the theme. The CrossHart Jazz Experience performed, while more than 200 current students and alumni, representing classes from 1950 to 2009, mixed and mingled during the reception. Among the event’s corporate sponsors were UPS and Boeing. Orthopedic Surgeon Rodney A. Gabriel, Jr. '79, MD was the recipient of the William L. Strickland '71 Award of Excellence. Over $22,000.00 was raised and 27 scholarship recipients were recognized.
