Supportive Fieldwork Experience ...

LMU provides the support where it's needed most -- in the classroom, school, or district where the student is completing their fieldwork, student teaching, or intern experience. All candidates receive regular visits and support by University Supervisors during their fieldwork experience.

In teacher education, field experiences are embedded in all coursework throughout the program. On-site observations and assistance are combined with supportive team meetings to discuss issues directly affecting candidates in the classroom.  Candidates have the additional benefit of an entire department dedicated to fieldwork.  The Department of Clinical Education Services provides a triangle of services designed to assist students through a comprehensive and successful student teaching or teaching internship experience.

In school counseling and school psychology, students work as school counselors and psychologists in schools and districts as a two semester culmination of their studies. University supervisors meet twice monthly with their interns, in addition to their school visits.

In Administrative Services, students are often observed in their school of employment where they already perform the duties of administrators (including specialists, assistant principals, coordinators). In addition to on-site school visits, they meet as a group twice monthly.
