MA in Bilingual Elementary Education and 2042 Multiple Subjects Preliminary Teaching Credential

This 36-unit program emphasizes the preparation of highly qualified elementary school teachers to conduct quality bilingual and intercultural education for a variety of student populations.  The innovative curriculum leads to a combined MA in Bilingual Elementary Education and a California 2042 Multiple Subjects Preliminary Credential with BCLAD emphasis.  The 2042 Preliminary Credential authorizes the holder to teach in grade K-5 or self-contained grade 6-8 classroom in a California public school system.  The Bilingual Crosscultural Academic and Language Development (BCLAD) teaching credential is offered with an emphasis in either Mandarin or Spanish.

Note that all students in this program must demonstrate minimum communicative competency in Mandarin or Spanish.
