Attention Faculty! Alpha Sigma Nu Book Awards Applications Are Now Available!

The Alpha Sigma Nu Book Awards is established to recognize outstanding publishing achievement in humanities and sciences by faculty and administrators of the twenty-eight Jesuit college and universities, plus one each in Canada and Korea, and two U.S. theologates.

This year, the category is “The Sciences,” with one award each for: Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Mathematics/Computer Science, and Health Sciences.

Each winner receives a $1,000 check and an elegant plaque. The winner’s name will also be on permanent display at the A∑N Central Office and the books are included in the permanent collection of the Marquette University library. The winners are announced on the A∑N website with links to the publishers.

Any member of the faculty or administration of the Alpha Sigma Nu member institutions who has published a book in the disciplines described above, as well as emeritus members of the faculty and administration of the member schools are welcome to apply. The submitted work must be published in the three-year period ending with the year prior to the award year.

Application forms can be downloaded from the Alpha Sigma Nu web page (www.AlphaSigmaNu.org). Deadline for submission is March 1, 2006. If you have any questions, please contact Anne Garner in the AJCU office – agarner@ajcunet.edu or (202) 862-9893.
