Professor Baur began her career in film as a childhood extra in the 1970's.  Her desire to explore life outside of Hollywood led her to Loyola Marymount University where she studied abroad and majored in studio arts.  After graduating from LMU in 1987, Professor Baur enrolled in the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television where she earned her MFA with a focus on animation studies.  Her independent student film, "The Mona Lisa", received awards and recognition domestically and internationally including two director's choice awards.  Prior to returning to LMU, Professor Baur worked at mainstream animation studios and visual effects studios in both administrative and artistic positions.  She has worked on several feature films and television shows including "The Iron Giant", "The Prince of Egypt", "Lost" and "Alias".  Currently, Professor Baur teaches classes in traditional animation filmmaking and 3D computer animation.
