Michelle Ko Biography
MICHELLE KO , Director of APSS 
Michelle Ko is a long-time community educator and leader who has consulted and conducted leadership/diversity trainings with high school and college students across the country through a variety of organizations including the national LeaderShape Institute, the Korea Society, the Organization of Chinese Americans, the National Society of Black Engineers, the Gates Millennium Scholars Program, the California Institute of Public Affairs, the New York Times, the National Jesuit Student Leadership Conference, Colorado State University, New York University, Emory University, Georgetown University and Columbia University.
Ms. Ko completed her B.A. at the UC Irvine and studied at Columbia University where she completed her M.A. and Ed.M. in Student Personnel Administration and her doctoral coursework in Higher Education Administration. Michelle served as a student affairs administrator at Columbia University and launched a national Asian American non-profit organization before arriving at LMU in 2002. A theatre-enthusiast and avid scuba diver, Michelle currently serves on the board of directors for the Lodestone Theatre Ensemble and volunteers with the Heal the Bay speakers’ bureau. In 2002, she was named one of the Top 30, Under 30 Most Influential Asian Pacific Americans in America by Political Circus.
