Our Services
Individual Therapy
- Through therapy, you may learn new problem solving or coping skills, increase your self-understanding and self-confidence, explore life patterns, and gain a better sense of how you may be influenced by your surroundings and experiences.
Group Therapy
- Student Psychological Services offers personal growth and special interest groups for students, such as Personal Relationships, Self-Esteem, and Identity Issues. Depending on students' needs, other groups are offered.
Marital, Family, and Couples Therapy
- To assist with relationship enhancement, your spouse, partner, or other family members may be included in your therapy sessions.
Crisis Intervention
- If you need to talk to someone about a personal crisis or emergency, a therapist will see you on a walk-in basis.
Other Services
- As part of the LMU community, we are available to campus student organizations for educational presentations, workshops, and project assistance.
Referrals
- We can refer you to off-campus mental-health services, if indicated.
Confidentiality
Conversations with your therapist are confidential and cannot be disclosed to anyone without your permission, with a few legal exceptions. Therapy records are kept separate from all other school records and cannot be released without your consent, except under very rare legal circumstances.
