English as a Second Language
We offer services in English as a second Language (ESL) in the following areas.
An ESL Course
What is considered "good writing" varys from one culture to another. In English 100, a 3-unit course for LMU students for whom English is a second language, students will learn and practice good academic writing in English.
To register for this class, please click here. If you want additional information about the course, please contact the instructor via email at Margaret.Catalfamo@lmu.edu.
ESL Conversation: Let's Chat!
A weekly group meeting to improve conversation skills for English language learners is offered during the fall and spring semesters. Here are some reasons why LMU's undergraduate and graduate students join this weekly conversation:
- Express my thoughts more fluently in English.
- Gain confidence in my speech.
- Have opportunities to practice my English in a fun and relaxed setting.
- Meet and socialize with fellow LMU students.
For additional information and for the location and time of the meeting, please send an email to Margaret.Catalfamo@lmu.edu.
