Transcript Requests
General Information
Official transcripts of courses taken at the University are issued via online request ( PROWL ) or with the written permission of the student concerned. Partial transcripts are not issued.
Transcripts show all Loyola Marymount University work completed as of the date of application for the transcript. Work in progress accompanies the transcript. Requests for transcripts to show end of current semester's work are held until all grades are recorded.
Transcript requests are processed in accordance with the date of filing. Transcripts will not be issued when a student has outstanding financial obligations to the University. In this case, the student will be notified by the Controller's Office.
There are no charges for LMU transcripts. They are sent by first class US mail, three to five working days after the receipt of a written request - requests made via PROWL are usually processed within 2 business days or less. Transcripts may also be designated for pickup with valid photo ID during business hours at the Office of the Registrar. Official Transcripts are never faxed from the office. Unofficial transcripts are never printed for students in the Office of the Registrar. A rush transcript service is offered, most days, for $10 per transcript; unfortunately these requests can only be made and paid for in person. Only payments of cash or check are accepted.
Ordering Transcripts
Federal law prohibits release of your transcripts without written authorization. Therefore, you must make the request either online (via PROWL ), in person at the Office of the Registrar or in writing sent by fax or mail .
Current Students and Alumni after 1988
Current students and most alumni should use the PROWL to request official transcripts; in the Student Services & Financial Aid menu, click on Student Records and then select Request Official Transcript . Follow the on-screen instructions to request your transcript(s).
Students Prior to Fall 1988
Those who attended Loyola University of Los Angeles, Marymount College, or Loyola Marymount University prior to Fall of 1988 will not be able to request official transcripts online. Please designate the number of transcripts that you are requesting, as well as the complete address(es) where the transcripts should be mailed, or designate whether the transcripts should be held for pickup. If you would like someone else to pick up your transcripts for you, you must indicate that on your written request, and you must include her or his full name. The person must present picture ID when picking up your transcript.
