Things to Remember

Use the Exit button (in the upper, right-hand corner of each page) to disconnect from PROWL so that no one will be able to access your records without re-entering your Student ID and PIN.

There is a 5-minute session inactivity timeout. This means if you do not use the system for 5 minutes, you will receive an inactivity timeout message and you will be prompted to re-enter your Student ID and PIN to regain access to the system. This is to insure security of the confidential information.

A "Data Missing" error when printing means you need to update your Disk Cache settings. See below for more information.
Browser Information
The following browsers are recommended for use in accessing PROWL:
Netscape Navigator or Communicator (Version 4.X or Higher)
Download latest version of Netscape Navigator/Communicator
Microsoft Internet Exploree (Version 4.X or Higher)

PROWL uses 128-bit encryption to protect your private information. Therefore, your browser must employ the latest security standards and have encryption turned on in order for PROWL to work (encryption is usually turned on as a default setting). Note to AOL and Compuserve Users
Some Internet providers have web browsers that will not allow access to the PROWL software. PROWL only allows each user one concurrent log in. AOL, and other providers, may perform an operation that PROWL interprets as a second log in, thus causing an error to occur.
Do not use the AOL built-in web browser to access PROWL. After connecting to AOL, users may successfully log in by launching either a Netscape or Internet Explorer browser. Users of older AOL software may need to upgrade in order to do this.
"Data Missing" Error when Printing in Netscape
You can print any of the information seen on the PROWL system. However, you may experience a problem printing from a Netscape browser. Netscape always wants to print from disk cache if the disk caching setting on the browser set to any value other than zero. This can result in a "Data Missing" error when you try and print from Netscape.
If you experience this error message, you can change the disk cache setting by selecting Preferences from the Edit menu. Set the value of Disk Cache to zero (0) and click on the Clear Disk Cache button. Once this is done and you reload the page, you can then print without problem.
Note: Normally, you do not need to make any changes to Internet Explorer in order to print from the PROWL system. Additionally, Mac users generally do not experience this problem.
System Maintenance
From time to time it will be necessary to perform system upgrades to the PROWL. During these times, the system may not be available. We will make every attempt to make these downtimes as short as possible.
Logging In to PROWL
Click on the link below to log into the PROWL system.
You will need two things to log in: Your Student ID number and your 6-digit PIN.
Your PIN is the same one that is used to access the ROAR system. Do not give your PIN to anyone! If you have forgotten your PIN, you can have it re-set by presenting valid identification at the Office of the Registrar in St. Robert's 107.
