Restorative Vipassana Meditation Class in India

This Vipassana or Insight Buddhist Meditation retreat will be held at the Purna Holistic Centre in South Delhi. The focus of this retreat is to cultivate mind-body awareness as the foundation for living with mindfulness and compassion towards oneself and others. It will include the practice of silent sitting and walking meditation, lectures, opportunities for discussion, and small group and individual meetings with the instructor.
Trudy Goodman, Ed.M., is the Founder and Guiding Teacher of Insight LA. Trudy trained extensively in meditation, psychotherapy and MBSR, and taught for years with Jon Kabat-Zinn. Trudy now teaches in LA and with Jack Kornfield and others worldwide. She co-founded the first Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy in Cambridge,MA.
Yoga Sadhana Practice
January 3-9, 2009 (seven days)

Location: Purna Holistic Centre, New Delhi
Cost: $1450 per person

This retreat will consist of two twenty hour classes. The morning class will include the study and practice of asanas (yoga postures) and Vinyasas (sequences). Step by step learning of pranayama breathing techniques. The second class will include Yoga for Health/Chikitsa Krama, with a study of subtle anatomy and physiology as well as textual study and discussion of the Yoga Sutras. The morning class will be held from 9 to 11:50 and the afternoon class will held from 3 till 5:50 p.m. Each class will total 20 hours, for a total of 40 hours of instruction over the course of the seven days.
Srivatsa Ramaswami teaches the 200 hour teacher training at Loyola Marymount University and has published three books: Yoga for the Three Stages of Life, Krishnamacharya’s Vinyasa Yoga, and Yoga Beneath the Surface (with David Hurvitz). He taught Yoga under the direct supervision of Krishnamacharya for many years in Chennai, India.
