What is there for my student to do on campus?
There are over 100 student organizations at Loyola Marymount University that reflect a wide variety of interests. From service organizations to cultural groups, there is something for everyone. For more information about clubs and organizations, visit the Student Leadership and Development website.

If your student is a freshman, there are many programs provided just for him/her. A schedule of events and resources for first-year students can be found at First Year Programs.

What items are NOT allowed in student rooms?

Does the college provide transportation for students at break times?
LMU's Lion Express Shuttle takes students to and from LAX airport during break times. For a complete schedule, visit their website.

Can students stay in their rooms during breaks?
Residence Halls are closed during Christmas break but remain open during other University holidays. This means that all students living in Residence Halls must leave by 8 p.m. on the last day of Fall Semester and will not be allowed to return until the weekend before Spring Semester begins. If your son or daughter needs to stay beyond the 8 p.m. deadline, arrangements need to be made with the Resident Director of his/her building. (To conact a Resident Director, click here.)

Apartments remain open during all University holidays.

Can my student change room assignments?
If your son or daughter wishes to change rooms, he/she should first speak to the Resident Director of his/her building. (To conact a Resident Director, click here.)

What kind of furniture is provided in each room?
Most residence halls provide an extra-long twin bed, desk, desk chair, dresser, and bookshelf for each student.

Most apartments include the above furniture in the bedrooms, as well as a sofa, 2 living room chairs, coffee table, end table, floor lamp, table lamp, kitchen table and chairs.

For specific information on what furniture is provided in your son or daughter's building, visit our building amenities page.

Where can my student do his/her laundry?
Each building is equipped with a laundry facility. The washers and dryers operate with Flexi Dollars which can be deposited onto your student's OneCard.
